Botanicals and other things examines the intrinsic beauty inherent within a dying planet. It is portraiture of things that have exceeded their best by date.

Routinely, we throw away the old and faded. Relegating it to the rubbish heap as soon as the blooms begin to fade. This series looks at what emerges out of that decay. Sitting on my desk for weeks, even months, something magical happens - a transformation from first blush to complete collapse. In death, these botanicals and other things are life.

Using natural light and b&w photography I seek to find the inner beauty within the forms, textures, and shapes of disintegration. I ask, what is revealed within these interstitial spaces? The results are botanicals and other things.
